Question - Getting a Job Empty Question - Getting a Job

Question (received ingame):

Help - I'm a new citizen of eEgypt

Salaam-

I'm a new player and trying to understand the
mechanics of the game. I live in **** and work at **** stone company. I see that I'm the only one who's been working there
lately. I'm sorry but I can't keep living at my current wages, but I
don't understand the job market system. (I will be loyal to your
companies if you give me sincere help!) It won't let me switch jobs
before the three days is over, but the other jobs at the senior level
pay over 5 egp while mine pays less than 2. I know it's kinda weird to
ask my boss for job switching advice, but i want to thrive for eEGypt
and can't at this salary. I would be happy to work for a different
company of yours, especially because i love your foreign policy ideas
and want to help you with my votes or however I can. So my question is -
if i'm gathering experience in the stone industry, do i lose all that
if i switch to another industry? will my wages rise if i'm a faithful
employee until we begin to sell more stone? or does it matter if i'm
working in the food industry, because fruit is **** natural
resource? What do you recommend? Please help.

ANSWER (provided in game)
Hi there - welcome to the game! At the moment, the experience you gain
in one industry contributes to skill in any other industry as well. The
things you should consider when selectiong your job are: salary, star
level of the company, and tax.

Salary - how much you get paid - BEFORE tax. Important part of choice of job.

Star
level - if you choose a job in a 1-star company - you lose 1 health
every time you work. If you choose work in a 2 star job - you lose 2
health. Etc. so you need more salary for a job with more stars. All
natual resource companies are 1-star only.

Tax - income
tax for different industries is at a different level. So it is owrth
checking at the country stats page to see what the income tax rate is to
see if the highest salary on offer is really THAT attractive.

You must also pay attention to your health. If it is low - you are less
productive when you work. You may find that higher paying employers
will fire you for not workiing at health of over 90. To get higher
health you should eat food. Notice that food is available at different
star levels. 1-star gives you +2 health, 2-star gives you +4 health,
etc. So look at all the qualities available to determine which food you
need to buy. You have a limit of 20 spaces on your inventory (click on
you picture if you want to go see it) - so you may have alternate
between eating and buy food several times if you want to eat a lot. you
can eat up to 300 extara points worth of food a day - but obviously
this costs a bit of money. If you need food aid you can try contacting
the minister of education - he is currently TheConqueror86.

Finally,
there is lots of help on lots of areas in the wiki pages. These days
it is difficult to find the wiki pages, but if you look at the bottom of
this web page you will seethe link "wiki" on the second from the left -
click on here and you will see more answers to your queries.

Good luck, and please contact me again with more questions. Also have you signed on to the forum yet? (https://egypt-forum.forumotion.com/)
- if not, please do - as there are tutorials on this site too - and it
is aplace where you can make contact with other citizens who can answer
your questions.

In the first days, erep can be
frustrating. But please stick with it, it will become much more fun as
you gain levels. Please notice that fighting in battles is a good way
to get early rises in experience points, which helps you to gain levels
quickly.
